Nandos Chicken

Nandos is a flame-grilled chicken. Its specific taste comes from a combination of peri sauce and chicken juices cooking in the open fire. The origin of the Nandos recipe is Portugal or at least it is claimed to be so.

Many people find the taste irresistible and superior to existing competition such as Red Rooster, KFC and other franchises.

I personally do not appreciate fast food as such. Let's be honest - the smell when you pass by Nandos is very attractive, but what ingredients do they use? Typically it will be a commercial secret. Based on the ads and websites I saw - Nandos is more open than others.

Nandos Advertising

In their advertising policy Nandos chose bold, stylish, modern and brave line. I think that is because they do not see themselves as a family restaurant but rather 15-35 year old market.

Can you imagine a family with 2 kids eating Nandos spicy chicken? Believe me - it is a lot of "fun". Modern kids typically are so spoiled that it is impossible to feed them "normal" chicken.

However singles, small groups of friends would find Nandos very attractive because of the actual "spice" in food and of course because for that group Nandos advertising is fun! Those who are offended by some commercials should spend some time watching major TV channels. What would one find there? "Psychology of murderer is the most interesting topic for viewers" - that is what I read in one of Australian newspapers.

Action movies with endless cannon, car crashes, sick "heroes", sticky boring sit comes - all that is the product of our civilization! Can we change that - I doubt. From this point of view I cannot blame Nandos for some brave ads. If it is not for you - do not watch!

Nandos Websites

That is something they can improve on. Just searching on Big G, I found dozens of Nandos websites. Most of them are slow, full of Flash, not user friendly although colourful and presenting a good company image.

Because of their targeted market Nandos websites can have a great advertising effect. I would advise to make the websites simpler, add interesting content - be as brave as their TV commercials.

I would like to specially mention Nandos at Home - the website that offers chicken recipes, sauces and spices. It completes the Nandos image presented to chicken loving public.

Nandos Product Review

Nandos products (flamed-grilled chicken, customers opinions, menu and locations) are discussed in Nandos. This product review is presented from customers and a food critic point of view.

Nandos Resources

There is a main website for each country. In case of Australia www.nandos.com.au.

There is a Wikipedia site dedicated to Nandos and their origin. There is also a number of Nandos interesting blogs, reviews and marketing sites:

which currently heat up. Nice Nandos reviews are also available.

Recently some Nandos lover website appeared on the Net. It is run by a teenager who claims she cannot eat anything but Nandos.

I have a funny feeling that Nandos has some connection with this girl.
